I've been scrolling through Instagram since the beginning if this.... beautiful... BEAUTIFUL platform, and I've come to realize that there are other people, like me, who are very good at what they do (actually I'm like, half lying, 'cause some of them are better than me) but they don't get enough attention for what they do! And that, my friends, is an absolute TRAVESTY! people should be arrested for ignoring such beautiful people! The poor things...
SO... I thought it would be nice to talk about the people I'm currently falling in love with... seriously...
Here we go!!

Evelina Lindqvist

Picture
This Swedish digital artist uses fantasy in her work and it's so beautiful! Her use of colour is absolutely amazing! I interviewed her for this article. Here's what she said;

SO, evelina...

[AR] What is your favourite medium to work with?
[EL] I love using my iPad and Apple Pencil and when I want to take a break from that I'm painting a lot with acrylics on canvas.
[AR] What inspires your work the most?
[EL] When I'm painting, Scottish landscapes and history inspires me the most. Also fantasy things and beautiful portraits.
[AR] Okay, last question; Is there anything you want to say to the world about yourself?
[EL] Just that I'm living in the north of Sweden and that my biggest dream is to move to Scotland.
Trust me, with talent like that, you can go anywhere you want to!

Constantina

This artsy Mommy with a self - proclaimed, "obsession with pens" has me obsessed with her mandalas! They are some of the most stunning ones I've ever seen!! No lie!! BRAVA!
I had an interview with her too...

So, constantina...

[AR]  What's your favourite medium to work with?
[C] I work mainly with fine liners (micron). Size 01 is my go to.
[AR] What inspires you the most for your work?
[C] What inspires me most is just the peace I feel working on a drawing and how relaxed it makes me, which motivates me want to continue.
[AR] GREAT. Okay, last one; is there anything you want to say to the world about yourself?
[C] I'm a mommy to a 1 year old and very busy. I have been putting my art second to everything and would love to focus more on my art and share it as much as I can.
I think we can all help you out there! And believe me, it wouldn't hurt us a bit!! Stunning work!

Audrey Gianelli

Picture
This realism artist in France has skills that speak for themselves. Like honestly, personally, I don't think she really needs and introduction...
I had a little talksy-poo with her, too...

So Audrey...

[AR] What is YOUR favourite medium to work with?
[AG] It really depends on what inspires me on the moment. I enjoy and work the most with alcohol markers, lately I am focused a little more on watercolour to improve my techniques.
[AR] Okay, cool! What inspires your work, specifically?
[AG] For the subject of my artworks, I am an addict to pop culture, movies, comics, and music artists. I draw what I love and what touches me.
For the medium. often it's because I saw the work of another artist that impressed and touched me, and I want to ry to use the medium ( if it's new to me) or the way they could use it (different effects). With time, all that I learn and am inspired by are mixed in my heard and go in my artworks.
[AR] Alright love, one last thing; Is there anything else you want to say to the world about yourself?
[AG] At the end of last year, I discovered a lot of other [types of] art (wood burning, resin art, scrap, clothes, customisation, etc.) This year, my ambition is to increase the scope of my skills, an create in different [styles] . 2019 is for new adventures!
Well, I'm excited to see what you do next!! You are amazing, my friend.

And last, but not AT ALL least...

Nat Iwata

Picture
Now, this guy right here is a children's book illustrator currently living near Amsterdam, who's art, no lie, has me staring all day! His work is absolutely entrancing. Honestly, it's like every piece of art takes you right into the story without any words. It's amazing!
I had a quick interview with him, as well...

So, nat...

[AR] What's your fave medium to work with, huh?
[NI] If I'm really honest about what medium I love drawing in, I'd say paper and ballpoint pen, although this usually only happens during meetings at work.
From a practical perspective, I do most of my work digitally. I use an iPad pro, Apple pencil and Procreate for sketches and a lot of personal work. I  also use Photoshop and a 21' Cintiq for professional projects, as I've yet to attain the same level of control on the tablet.
[AR] Interesting. And what inspires your work the most, Nat?
[NI] Obviously, there is an endless amount of inspiring work on Instagram and the web -- too much I sometimes think -- and it's always a balancing act when viewing others' art between feeling inspired and discouraged by how awesome some of it is. In my daily life I'm inspires by my family, my daily cycle to work, the desire to create something interesting and new, and the drive to improve as an artist and person.
[AR] Okay! Last question; Is there anything you want to tell the world about yourself?
[NI] Hmm... This is a tough question. One thing I'd like beginning and aspiring artist to know about me is that I'm really living out my childhood dream of being a professional artist and they can, too! Over the past 12 years I've worked full time as an illustrator, animator, 3D modeller, art director and concept artist, It's very possible to do what you love for a living, you just need to be dedicated, creative in your approach and always be open to learning new things. I currently work as a lead artist at a VR studio in Amsterdam by day, and illustrate children's books on the side.
Thank you for that wonderful speech! and believer me, you're work is inspiring enough! It's definitely inspired me!
