Okay, so I stopped what I doing and sat down to do this, because I just HAD to make a point of showing off this amazing artist... I'm going to TRY to make it quick, because my food's getting cold, but I'll be like, stopping to stare at their artwork and getting mesmerized for like, a good twenty minutes at a time, and then I'll look up thinking it's only been five minutes, when it's really been like, TWENTY five minutes, and I'll panic because my food's cold and I don't have a microwave, but it's okay, because it was so worth it, but still, cold food, so... no guarantees... LET'S GO!!!
I've been staring at this amazing artist (and their cute little couple pics) for QUITE a while. His dreamy, eclectic style reminds me of a lot of my favourite French artists. He has this beautiful, almost carefree air to his work that you would see in any magazine or museum! STUNNING!
ANY WHO, I had a little sit down with the adorable artiste:
[AR] What's your fave medium to work with?
[E] I work mostly traditionally, using graphite and charcoal to form my narrative work; gouache is also very common and India ink had become central to my most recent artwork as well.
[AR] What inspires your work the most?
[E] The daily traumas of daily life certainly have had a huge impact on my work and the way I present that work; the trials of mental health and identity within queer and brown spaces are key to many of my stories. I love so many artists who have engaged with these narratives, including Rebecca Kirby and Jillian Tamaki.
[AR] I am loving you more and more!! Is there anything else you want the rest of the world to know about you?
[E] [Just that] I also have a Twitter, but Instagram is my main source of art and inspiration.
You forgot to mention your website! Well no matter, I'll post it for you, because you deserve all the attention you get!!!! Thank you for making such amazing Art!!!!
Don't to CHECK OUT HIS INSTAGRAM and other social media! You won't regret it!
Well, I guess that's everything for this week!!
Is there anything you like about this week's artist? Is there anyone that you would like to see in next week's shoutout? Let me know in the comments!! I'll see what I can dig up!!
Until next week, my fellow Art Freaks!!! TTFN!!!
My name is Margo, and there's nothing much to me, I'm just a passionate artist enjoying the little things, working to live off of my passions. Oh, and documenting my crazy, artsy journey as I do it. ENJOY!
